The Inter University Games 2018 being the platform for the phenomenal University sportsmen to exhibit their sports skills in a whirl of games marked its ending on 4th of November after holding a set of successful games nearly for 5 months. Opening up another chapter in the history of University games, this year’s Inter University Games started on the 2nd of June and it comprised of 22 games for which 14 island wide Universities got participated.

The quest to retain the crowns of the championship combined with the commitment, sheer hard work and the team spirit from the amateur players stood at front and cheers from all Universities gathered under one championship which could name as the excitement for to jangle the nerves of the opponent teams.

Assuring that the losers are welcomed and winners are celebrated while all the teams are cheered up, the Inter University Games mark its pathway for the amateur players to bring-forth a holistic athleticism, mental focus combined with physical agility and fitness.

Marking the end by securing the victory, University of Colombo could place themselves in the first place. University of Jayawardenepura, who became the champions at the last year Inter University Games became the runners up this time and University of Moratuwa placed the third.

Colombo lads who bacame the runners up at the last year Inter University Games could top the first place this time securing the first place in many games including Cricket, Tennis, Netball, Karate, Men’s Volleyball, Women’s basketball, Women’s Carrom etc. The runners up, J’pura lads could also secure the first places in games including Swimming, Baseball, Badminton(Women),Elle (Men), Chess (Men), Basketball (Men), etc. Moratuwa also could become the winners at games including Table Tennis, Rugby, Rowing, Karate, Taekwondo, Badminton (Men), Carrom (Men) etc.
