Hidden shutterbugs of pera is a new project started in 2018 as a platform for talented young photographers in University of Peradeniya to showcase their talents to the world. This project has already served its purpose and was able to give due recognition for these bunch of young photographers who were eagerly waited for such a platform. Currently we are in the second season of this series of photo albums. 

ALBUM 01 – Pathum Saranga

Pathum saranga is one of the most promising members of perabeats who is a second year student of the Faculty of Science. He has achieved around 35 international awards so far and has stabilized his name among the 40 most famous photographers in Sri Lanka. Saranga has also been recognized as one of the 10 famous photographers in the kandy District due to his proven talent in photography.

ALBUM 02 – Vishwa Abeywardana

Vishwa Abeywardana is a second year student of the Faculty of Engineering with a great eye and creativity to capture iconic photographs. Winning a 2nd place in 50mm unedited photo contest is an example to prove his potential in photography. He is an old Rajan who also have skills in playing badminton and swimming. Not only that, he has a born talent to play musical instruments and he is doing music production too while maintaining his own YouTube channel.

Album 03 – Channa Niroshana

Channa Niroshana is a final year student of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences who is having a great enthusiasm towards photography. He has been a member of perabeats media crew since first year and has gained a lot of experience and knowledge by working with Perabeats. This young man who studied at Pinnawala National School, Rambukkana is also a good musician.He has a talent to take wonderful remarkable photographs even using only a mobile.

ALBUM 04 – Shaluka Senevirathna

Shaluka Senevirathna is a final year undergraduate of Faculty of Science who follows a special degree in Geology. His potential in photography and photo editing was developed day by day through his first hand experiences gained by working with perabeats family. Not only a photographer, this old devan is a great violinist who has expanded his talents in numerous pathways. Capturing moments with his unique artistic dimensions, he is adding a great value to perabeats club while leading the crew as the President. This young gentleman shows a keen interest in travel photography and his amazing clicks speak of indelible moments spent on various destinations.

ALBUM 05 – Lakpriya Senevirathna

Lakpriya Senevirathna is a third year undergraduate from the Faculty of Science who is successfully elevating his art with a fashion of quirkiness and artistry. This inventive young photographer is talented in video editing, photo editing, designing, programming and also works as an app developer. Pinnawala National School is where his roots belong to. He serves as ideapro application developer at Dialog Axiata and coordinator at Elephant freedom project. This personality is an inspiration to his junior rising crop of enthusiastic photographers.

ALBUM 06 – Isuru Weerasekara

Isuru Weerasekara is a 3rd year undergraduate of the Faculty of Science, who completed his school education at Pinnawala Central College. Isuru currently serves to perabeats as a vice president and has a promising knowledge in photography. This friendly soul is a reliable inspiration to the upcoming new members and always helps them find their talent and improve their ability to capture a telling moment. Looking at the image-making process holistically, this young man visits each aspect of image-making from inspiration and planning to capture, editing, and sharing. In each step, Isuru shows his own muses and his hard-won best practices for success. And along the way, he addresses both the art and the craft of creating a gripping photo. “Pictures are worth a thousand words.” Well, it’s true, because photographs tell such personal stories. They bring people back to such treasured moments they’re experiencing with an instant recap of emotions, which anyone may have otherwise totally forgotten about.

ALBUM 07 – Udara Devapriya

Udara Devapriya is a third year undergraduate of Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, who completed his school education at Hanwella Rajasinghe Central College and D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo. He gives his full potential as an event coordinator in perabeats. He always strives to achieve the highest standard possible at any given task and has become a valuable asset to perabeats as a photographer, editor and a graphic designer. This young soul can take anyone to uniquely beautiful scenery through a magical photo as he acquires an eye for all the beauty in the surrounding and waits for the right moment to press the button. Parallelly, his passion for traveling builds his personality as a reliable individual.

ALBUM 08 – Chandeepa Pathirana

Chiran Chandeepa is an inspiring freshman from Faculty of Engineering who broadcasts his extraordinary talent in photography, videography and editing from the very beginning of his university life. This energetic young man who completed his school education at St. Thomas College, Matale currently serves to perabeats as a junior member. He earned his place in perabeats crew by giving an excellent coverage in the freshers championship 2019. His enthusiasm and dedication make him a reliable and much loved member to the perabeats crew and he has a long way ahead with us.
